Giving Back
That's me at age four, in the former Soviet Union. As an immigrant kid with big dreams, I've benefited from the help of many great organizations and kind people. Now, my wife and I feel lucky to be raising our daughter in Santa Cruz, California. Along with the Young Writers Program and the Santa Cruz Museum of Art and History, we have created an 'imaginarium' and nonprofit writing/tutoring center to benefit our community's under-served kids. The imaginarium part is called the Chamber of Heart and Mystery and the adjacent tutoring center is called the Word Lab. (See this site's Press page for details.)
