The Night Library

About This Book

A mighty lion takes a reluctant reader on an enchanted journey across the city skyline to a magnificent public library. There, books magically tumble from the shelves and create mesmerizing scenes from stories such as The Tale of Peter Rabbit and The Polar Express. Seeing this fantastic display reminds him that he once loved reading. And when the magic reveals the boy's late grandfather patiently reading to him, he begins to understand what books have done for him and the people he loves.

The author opts here for a pensive tone, well suited to this dream fantasy. Colón's art complements the wistful text as the characters roam into the library's grand hall and children's room. This should please bibliophiles of all ages.
